Top Ten Dare

I have been back at this place right now before the holidays come around and we have more guests in and out and gifts in and out.... And I finally did it. There has been one drawer - THE utensil drawer - that I have just let pile up. Many gadgets that have maybe one use. Some - a half of use, once a year. And I want to have less and use the things I have.

I took everything out of my drawer and said: Only the Top Ten will survive today. I ruthlessly edited my drawer. I wanted every tool to have it's own space, not touching another tool.

I am even considering drawing an outline around each utensil....like wood shops have for each tool. So every place has it's spot. I love opening my drawer and having only what I need. It's been a week, and I haven't missed a thing. These are my most used items. I decided to sit through a month and see if I absolutely needed to add back from the pile...and then off to Goodwill. My knives are in a butcher block and my Calphalon spatulas and ladles are in a draw immediately next to the pots and pans, fyi. These are the gadgets-utensils.
